Technical:
United Security & Control Systems, Inc is currently seeking a qualified security systems technician to fill an upcoming position.
Should have a minimum of 2 years installation/service experience with access control systems, both hardware and software. CCTV, Burg, and Fire Systems experience helpful. Strong customer service skills are also required.
Job Purpose:
Installation, programming, and service of access control, burglary, fire alarm, and CCTV systems, verifying system performance; maintaining records.
Duties:
* Prepares for system alarm installations by reviewing installation orders; gathering equipment, supplies, and tools; coordinating schedules with dispatch.
* Plans security/fire alarm installations by surveying and evaluating location; identifying alarm installation requirements; laying-out equipment and wiring plan.
* Establishes systems by installing equipment; running and pulling wiring; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards.
* Verifies system functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals; identifying and correcting problems.
* Maintains records by documenting installation.
* Maintains customer rapport by resolving concerns; answering questions.
* Maintains safe and secure work environment by following safe practices; keeping security information confidential.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
* Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Skills/Qualifications:
A self motivated individual that can work both alone, and as part of a team. Strong leadership and customer service skills are required. At least 2 years experience in commercial and residential electronic security systems, both hardware and software. Basic knowledge of NEC, NFPA72, NFPA101, and ADA.
Must have or be able to obtain a Virginia DCJS registration. Other security clearances or background checks may be required

Requirements:
- 2+ years experience in outside sales.
- Experience selling Access Control, CCTV, Burg, and Fire Alarm Systems including service contracts and monitoring.
- Successful cold calling in a highly competitive industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential market.
- Thorough knowledge of local and regional area.
- Above average computer skills.
- Must have, or be able to obtain a Virginia DCJS Registration. Additional clearances or registrations may be requried.
Expectations:
- Develop thorough understanding of industrial/commercial infrastructure.
- Generate new opportunities with new and established clients.
- Expand client base.
