New Regulations for Pharmacies

Posted on December 4, 2009

The Commonwealth of Virginia has revised the Regulations Governing the Practice of Pharmacy. Section 18VAC110-20-180 states that, begining December 1st, 2009, the security system shall be “capable of sending an alarm signal to the monitoring entity when breached if the communication line is not operational.”  In layman terms, this means security systems must have some form of backup communications installed if the phone line fails.
